Wireless USB Adapter
Wireless USB adapters are one of those things that, living in a big city, I have a hard time seeing much use for. What they are used for is connecting your laptop or desktop computer to a high speed wireless network. But if you’ve got a home network then you’re already all set. I have a laptop and everyone I know who tries to, is able to pull up a signal just about anywhere they are. Manhattan is unlike anywhere else in the world though so I can imagine their being the issue of people and signals being spread out across wider spaces. Plus there is the issue of tethered signals flaring out here, so the wireless USB adapter may have use yet. What you’re doing when you plug in your wireless USB into your computer is you’re honing in on the signal and strengthening it for your use. Wireless USB adapters can be bought from a number of different retailers like Belkin, Linksys, and Netgear. If you’ve got a TiVo system that also has a variety of USB adapter for you to install. Bluetooth also makes a wireless adapter for your printer. If you need network support for your new wireless USB adapter, I’d say the first place to start is with new software. If you’re looking for software for your new USB adapter why not start with the computer giant; Microsoft. Microsoft not only makes the software you need but they also have their own broadband networking wireless USB adapter. Belkin also makes a Bluetooth wireless USB printer adapter where you can connect your USB printer wirelessly to your PDA or notebook computer and can activate your printer anywhere in range. Wireless USB adapters are a very good tool, can b used anywhere you need wireless signal, offer great signal strength, and are fairly inexpensive. Don’t make the mistake many of us have and buy a “cheap” wireless USB adapter though. You’ll want to be sure that your wireless USB adapter is amendable to your networks needs while still being affordable enough for you to arm all your networks computers with the same level quality adapter. Microsoft also offer a broadband USB adapter which can allow for effortless networking among your networks computers. All in all your wireless USB network adapters run the gamut from being inexpensive or cheap with low quality to being a little too expensive for something so seemingly utilitarian. Make your decision and do your shopping as you don’t want to be networking yourself around.
